Towers and MPs and Cruises and Warhorses

We got up early this morning and caught the Tube into London.  This was by far the most stressful part of this trip.  I was so afraid we were going to lose somebody.  I think I could handle the Tube on my own, though.

We started the morning off with a visit with a former Member of Parliament.  It was very good and he was so knowledgeable, but he talked very fast and I only caught about every third word.  When we finished with that, we rode the Underground to the Tower of London.  We had lunch there and then had three hours to explore the Tower.  It was so cool!  We saw the Crown Jewels and the tower where Sir Walter Raleigh and the two Lost Princes were held, and the spot where Anne Boleyn lost her head. The chapel where she is buried is closed for renovation so we couldn't see her grave.  The line for the Crown Jewels wasn't really all that long, and it didn't take us very long to go through and see them.  I really liked the Tower.
This is a park bench that looks like a children's book.  We saw an article about them before the trip and saw a couple of them around London.
This is where Elizabeth I was kept when she was imprisoned during Bloody Mary's reign.
Dina photo-bombing me!

After the Tower, it was time for our river cruise.  It was kind of lame.  We got on at the Tower and off at Westminster.  It took about 20 minutes.  I think it would have been better if it had been longer.

We caught the Tube from Westminster to the theater district and had supper in a fancy hotel restaurant named Sway.  We had about an hour before we needed to be at the theater, so we walked to Coventery Garden and had a look around.  Then we walked back to the theater and attended "Warhorse".  The theater was smaller than I was expecting.  Also, I was so sleepy the first half that I didn't really like it, but I kind of woke up at intermission and the 2nd half was better.  We took the Tube and got back to the hotel at 11:30.
Have to be up at 5 am to get ready to load the coach to go to the airport to catch a plane to go to America.  Can't wait to get home.  Hope my suitcase isn't overweight.
