A Very Very Long Day

We are on the bus on the way to our hotel Tuesday night.  We left Minneapolis last night at 11:30, after the maintenance crew determined that the plane had indeed been hit by lightning, but there was no damage.  The flight was uneventful, although I was unable to sleep, despite having two different prescriptions.  I was on the aisle sitting next to a sleeping British man.  He didn't stir the whole flight.

We were late getting into Heathrow, and then we got totally lost.  We were trying to find our way from terminal 4 to terminal 5, and we got some bad advice a couple of different times.  We were so lost that we ending up missing our connection to Edinburgh.  That became a medium sized nightmare, because our tickets from British Air were non-changeable.  That meant that they couldn't be changed even if we missed a connection.  We did contact the program office and they took care of it for us.   They got us on the 5:25 flight to Edinburgh, which was of course delayed.  We finally got to the Edinburgh airport, which is the size of the Great Falls airport, and discovered that our hotel is 2 hrs away by bus.  By this point, I'm ready to slit my wrists.  We picked up Mcdonalds for supper and ate it on the bus.  Tomorrow, St. Andrews Golf Course.

Entire delegation upon arrival in Scotland.
