St. Andrews, Scotland

Greetings from the highlands of Scotland!

The alarm rang waaaay too early this morning. I roomed with Tracie, the Helena leader, and we both woke up and wondered what in the hell that beeping sound was.  We got ready and had breakfast, then took off for Elmwood Golf course.  The hotel that we are staying at is waaaay out in the boonies....about two hours away from everything.  Several people got sick last night and this morning because the road is so windy and like Ireland, our driver Jimmy has two speeds.....fast and faster.  We drove and drove and drove this morning, finally arriving at the Elmwood Golf Course just in time for our putting, chipping, and driving lessons.  It was freezing cold , windy and raining, but the sun came out eventually and it actually turned out to be a nice day.  We had lunch at the golf course, and then we were back on the bus for short trip to St. Andrews.

St. Andrews is a beautiful town.  Of course the Old Course, the world's first golf course, is located there, as well as St. Andrews University and St. Andrews cathedral.  Wills and Kate met at St. Andrews, which also seems to be the major claim to fame here.  We took a walking tour of the town, and then did some shopping.  We loaded up the bus and headed back to the hotel, another two-hour bus trip.

Tomorrow we raft on the River Tay, and on Friday we search for Nessie.  I'm convinced we are going to find her.

Love you and miss you all!!
